Boom Bap Bombay, Vol. Two
Dust Cartel
Breakbeat, sound system pressure, and a refusal to make anything twice.
Dust Cartel are Ishaan Sodhi and Priya Menon, who met working sound at a Delhi venue that no longer exists. They make music for rooms with proper subs — breaks, dub weight, and drums mixed loud enough to be a structural decision.
They work fast and delete more than they keep. Their releases arrive in bursts, then nothing for a year, which the label has stopped trying to change.
They also build and repair their own outboard, some of which appears on other artists' records without credit.

“Physical music. It reads as restraint on headphones and as violence on a system.”
