Farah Qureshi grew up singing in a family that treated it as ordinary, which shows: there is no strain in her performance and no interest in proving anything. She writes short songs and resists the temptation to extend them.

Her records are arranged sparsely — often bass, drums, one keyboard and voice — because she is confident enough to leave the space empty.

She has become the label's most requested session vocalist, appearing on four releases that are not her own.
